The Original Trip

This is an excerpt of the original trip down the road we ran today:

"After a while they were ready to transport Will the few blocks over to MCG's CMC PICU. I rode in the ambulance with Will while Mom, Dad, and Austin followed. My sweet innocent little guy was on a snazzy bed all bundled up, but the tubes and things couldn't be hidden. He didn't have many seizures in transit so I was able to "relax" a bit. But it was still so painful to watch my precious gift, lay motionless hooked up to all these tubes, in an ambulance, being transported at 4 days old to find out why his body was being taken over by seizures........It was almost midnight on March 20, 2010. We were sitting in PICU watching as they got Will situated in his bed under a Bili light in the "tank." At about this point, Will began having one of the worst seizures we had seen in the time since they began. As she attempted to hold Will down she yelled, "I need some help here!" as we all sat motionless. They ended up tying his arms down with a blanket and giving him a load dose of phenobarbital."

So today was so much better and continually reminds us of the amazing life we were both given!
