This week has had its major ups and major downs. We have enjoyed our first week of the summer in Asheville with family and with Daddy! The weather is AMAZING and the fun has just begun. Along with the joy has come sorrow. We were faced with the very unexpected loss of my co-worker and lead psychologist with whom I have worked since starting in Aiken in January of 2007. On the way to her funeral on Saturday morning, thankful to be riding with friends, the news came of another loss, a 1 month old gift from God that was given to some amazing friends and taken home to his Heavenly Father entirely too soon for us here on earth. As I sat at the funeral on Saturday, despite being reminded that both are singing songs of joy, I could not help but think how wrong it is that parents are the ones attending the funeral of their children. It is supposed to be the other way around. But this world is sinful, and I will never forget that God gave his ONLY son, so that we may look forward to life with him and with those we lose. Not only is this the purpose, it is an encouragement to know that our heavenly Father suffered and wept so that he may tell us, I have been there, I know how you feel. As I sat in church this morning, we sang this song and it encouraged me greatly, during these trials and many others:
He Giveth More Grace
He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater, He sendeth more strength when the labors increase; to added affliction he addeth His mercy; to multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.
(This next part is my favorite)
When we have exhausted our store of endurance, When our strength has failed ere the day is half done, When we reache the end of our hoarded resources, Our Father's full giving is only begun!!!!
His grace is sufficient for thee. Rest, for the Lord is at hand. THe power of Christ is made perfect in weakness He giveth more grace and He giveth again.
Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision, Our God ever yearns His rsources to share; Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing; The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.
His love has no limit; His grace has no measure. His pow'r had no boundary known utno men; For out of His infinite riches in Jesus, He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again!
Man, what comfort. We don't deserve a bit of this but God is so good, he is the perfect Father. He never rests and continues to give us all that we need. Over this last year Austin and I have been faced with times that we fully believed that we had more than we could handle, or that we didn't have enough to make ends meet, but here we are, He provided for our every need. We could not do it on our own, we didn't have enough on our own, but his full giving began and he giveth and giveth and giveth again!
